David A. Paul, Q.C., LL.B., Mediator
 

David Paul was born and raised in Kamloops, British Columbia.  He graduated from Kamloops Senior Secondary in 1980 and the University of Victoria Law School in 1986.  Since then, he has  been in private practice in Kamloops where he has dedicated his legal experience to representing individuals from all walks of life. David practices in the areas of Family Law, Personal injury, Criminal law, and Mediation (Family & Civil).  His firm, Paul & Company (www.kamloopslaw.com) has four lawyers and is located in downtown Kamloops.  David is a member of the Canadian Bar Association serving as President of the BC Branch in 2002-2003.  Currently, he serves as the Past Chair of two National Conferences of the Canadian Bar Association,  the Legal Profession Assistance Conference (LPAC) and General Practitioners Solo and Small Firm Conference (GPSSC).  David is also a member of the Trial Lawyers Association of British Columbia and the Supreme Court of British Columbia Mediation (Family and Civil). Previously, David  served as  President of the Kamloops Bar Association, director and founding member of the Lawyers Business & Property Network , a non-profit society that provides guidance to lawyers who wish to assist their clients with business, property and financial transactions, and the British Columbia Arbitration and Mediation Institute(BCAMI).  In December of 2003, David was appointed a Queen's Council. Outside of his practice, David teaches an introduction course on Criminal Justice at Thompson River University.  Most recently, David was appointed to the Board of Directors of the Thompson River University Foundation Board.

 

Lorianna Bennett, B.Sc., LL.B., Mediator

 

Lorianna Bennett was also born and raised in Kamloops.  She graduated from St. Ann's Academy in 1990.  In 1994 she received her Bachelor of Science Degree from the University College of the Cariboo  and in 1997 she graduated from the University of Alberta Law School. Ms. Bennett was called to the British Columbia Bar in May 1998.  Ms. Bennett is also very active in her profession.  She has served as  President of the Kamloops Bar Association. Currently, she serves as a member of Council of the Canadian Bar Association, BC Branch and the chair of the CBA (BC) Member Services Committee. Ms. Bennett  concentrates her practice in the areas of Family Law,  Real Estate Law, Wills, and Mediation.
 
David C. Dundee, B.A.(Hons), LL.B, Mediator

 

David C. Dundee (...No, the "C" does not stand for Crocodile"... )was neither born nor raised in Kamloops.  He was born in Regina, Saskatchewan, and raised in Saskatchewan, England, Ontario, and British Columbia.  He does, however, have roots in the community.  His maternal great-grandparents lived here at the turn of the last century, and his maternal grandmother and one uncle both lived, and died here. David received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Honours English in 1978 and a Bachelor of Laws degree in 1981, both from the University of British Columbia.  He was called to the bar in 1982. David has practised family law for most of his career, and has focussed primarily on family law for the last  nine years.  He became a family law mediator in 1988.  He is currently Chair of the Kamloops Family Law subsection of the Canadian Bar Association, B. C. BranchAdditionally, he serves as a member of Provincial Council on the Canadian Bar Association, B.C. Branch. 

 

Margaret R. Payne, LL.B., LL.M

 

Margaret was born in Nelson, B.C. and raised in Kamloops where she attended John Peterson Junior Secondary and Kamloops Senior Secondary.  She graduated from the University of Victoria Law school in 1987 and in 2000 she obtained her Masters of Law in Intellectual property from the Franklin Pierce Law Centre in Concord, New Hampshire. Prior to joining  Paul & Company, Margaret worked with two majory national law firms in Toronto and Vancouver, as a sole practitioner and as part of the in-house legal team at Ontario Hydro (as it then was ) and ast Neucel Specialty cellulose Ltd. Margaret currently practices in the areas of family law, administrative law, intellectual property law, and general litigation.  Margaret is a member of the British Colubmia, Alberta, and Ontario Bars and is a pst member of the American Bar Association.  She is also a past temporary commissioner of the British Columbia Utilities Commission, part par- time member of the Forest Act Appeal Board and past member of the United States National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners.
